What is Federal Work Study?
365体育投注网The Federal Work Study program is a federally funded, need-based program that provides on- and off-campus employment opportunities for undergraduate students, allowing them to earn money to help pay educational expenses. The program encourages community service work and work that corresponds with each student's educational interests.
Students are paid in accordance with current policy and, in most cases, work 10 hours per week. Students are paid, based on the number of hours worked, every two weeks with the regular university payroll.
How do I apply?
Students interested in FWS employment must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine if they are eligible to receive Work Study funds. Eligible students can then complete a Work Study application, which is available online (cannot be submitted electronically) or in the Student Business Center.
365体育投注网The application will be kept on file for the entire academic year. Available positions will be posted on the Federal Work Study web page at the supervisor's request. Interested students can then contact the supervisor to discuss employment.
365体育投注网Because there are more eligible applicants than available positions on campus, not all eligible students will be hired in a FWS position. Students who fail to perform duties as assigned can be replaced at anytime during the year; this will be done at the supervisor's discretion.
In order to maintain eligibility for the FWS program, students must be enrolled in a degree-seeking program at least six credit hours, and remain in good standing with the University both academically and financially.
