My therapeutic style focuses on having an open-mind, providing a non-judgmental experience and meeting my clients where they are in their current situation. I take an integrative approach in my interventions which are based on my client's needs. My intervention preferences are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychoeducation, Person-Centered Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Mindfulness and Group Therapy. I am skilled at working with adolescents, emerging adults, and those in middle adulthood.
I expect to begin providing formal supervision in the next year and am currently developing my supervision approach.
365体育投注网I am especially interested in serving Veteran's and those whose lives are touched by addiction issues. I have a research interest in suicide prevention which I plan to investigate as part of my doctoral program which I began in 2016.

I facilitate the following groups: GRIT, and Choices as well as others. I also Chair the Campus Drug and Alcohol Prevention Committee.
365体育投注网As a first generation college student, I completed my Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Ohio University Southern. I earned a Master's Degree in Counseling & Human Development from Lindsey Wilson College. I am currently enrolled in a Counselor Education & Supervision doctoral program.
In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors, hiking, camping, sitting by a bonfire, and swimming. I tend to go for the less adventurous activities such as watching movies, playing board games, reading a good mystery novel, and spending time with friends and family.

My therapeutic style is a collaboration between client and counselor. I employ an integrative approach that is driven by student need. I tend to integrate Solution-Focused, Behavioral, Cognitive-Behavioral and Reality Therapy techniques when working with clients. I enjoy empowering students through Psychoeducation and skill building. I believe all behavior has purpose and work with the client to identify the underlying motivation behind the (maladaptive) behavior. I focus on building rapport with clients by utilizing humor when appropriate and maintaining a non-judgmental perspective.
My supervision style is similar to my therapeutic style. I utilize an integrative approach that is driven by the needs of the supervisee. I place an emphasis on case conceptualization, theoretical orientation and self-care and wellness.
My professional interests include eating disorders and body image concerns, crisis intervention, working with individuals in abusive relationships, LGBTQIA and trauma.
Groups and Liaison Roles:
The groups I am facilitating are Stress-Less, Lifeline, Beating Stress and Beating Depression. I am also chair of the SSU Eating Disorders Awareness Committee, which operates in conjunction with the National Eating Disorders Awareness (NEDA) campaign.
I graduated from Shawnee State University with my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and my Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Lindsey Wilson College.

My therapeutic style is primarily from the Cognitive-Behavioral perspective and I utilize Narrative, Choice, and Common Factors theories.

365体育投注网My professional interests include therapeutic work with victims of trauma, psychological first aid, LBGTQIA issues, and critical incident debriefing. I have an avid interest in suicide prevention and am a member of the Scioto County Suicide Prevention Coalition. I also work with those involved with the criminal justice system and have experience in sex offender treatment and those mandated to treatment due to domestic violence or assault.
Groups and Liaison Roles:
My position includes oversight of all program development, groups, workshops and services provided by Campus Counseling Services and well as the Campus Health Clinic.
I received my Ed.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Argosy University, Sarasota, Florida. I have a Master's in Community Counseling and School Counseling from Ohio University and received by Bachelor's Degree with double majors in Criminal Justice and Psychology from Wilmington University of Ohio. I am a graduate of Northwest High School in McDermott, Ohio and a first generation college student.
I love, love, love green spaces. I enjoy tending my flowers, being immersed in nature, warm days at the beach, picnics, travel, teaching and reading. I take special interest in mentoring other first generation college students and especially enjoy mentoring women and those from Appalachia.
